The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom has made arrangements to hear the following appeals:
Petrodel Resources Ltd & Ors v Prest & Ors
On appeal from the Court of Appeal of England and Wales (Civil Division)
The Court of Appeal granted permission to appeal its decision in this case, which raises the question of whether courts have the jurisdiction in financial remedy proceedings to order the transfer of properties or other assets belonging to companies owned by the parties.

The appeal will be heard by the Supreme Court on Tuesday 5 March and Wednesday 6 March 2013. Seven Justices will hear the appeal.
Smith v Ministry of Defence
On appeal from the Court of Appeal of England and Wales (Civil Division)
It is anticipated that some relatives of service personnel killed in action overseas will appeal against the Court of Appeal's decision of 19 October which upheld the striking out of some of their claims against the MoD.

The appeal will be heard in the week of Monday 18 February 2013, and the hearing is expected to last up to three days. Seven Justices will hear the appeal.
