Christmas and New Year opening times

The Supreme Court building

The Supreme Court building will be open to the public over the Christmas holiday on the following dates and times:

Monday 24 December - Wednesday 26 December 2012 - CLOSED

Thursday 27 December and Friday 28 December - Building open 0930 - 1630

Monday 31 December - Building open 0930 - 1400

Tuesday 1 January 2013 - CLOSED

Wednesday 2 January - resume normal opening hours 0930 - 1630, but please note differing Registry opening times below

Registry

Please note that Registries of both the Supreme Court and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council will be closed during the Christmas vacation period.

The Office will close at 4pm on Friday 21 December 2012 and will reopen at 10am on Monday 7 January 2013. Supreme Court staff present in the building while the Registry is closed will not be able to accept papers on behalf of the Court.

If your time limit for filing documents expires on a business day during this Christmas vacation period, it will be extended automatically until 7 January. This is provided for by UKSC Practice Direction 2.1.8 and JCPC Practice Direction 2.1.8. (Please not that this does not mean that documents due on or after 7 January are subject to any automatic extension).
